Glossary

Age consumed: Shows the amount of crypto changing addresses on a certain date, multiplied by the time since they last moved. Spikes indicate a significant amount of previously idle crypto moving between addresses.

Amount in top holders: Show the amount of coins/tokens held by the top holders. By default the top 10 holders are taken.

Circulation: Shows number of unique coins/tokens being used during a time period.

Coin supply outside of exchanges: Shows the total amount of BTC located outside of known exchange wallets. Spikes in this metric may indicate an accumulation trend

Coin supply on exchanges: Shows the total amount located in known exchange wallets. Spikes in this metric may indicate a rise in short-term sell pressure.

Daily active addresses (DAA): Shows the number of unique addresses involved in BTC transactions daily. This metric indicates the daily level of crowd interaction (or speculation) with a token.

Daily active deposits: Shows the number of unique deposit addresses that have been active on a particular day for a given asset.

DeFi total value locked: Shows total value locked in DeFi projects, available in USD.

Development activity: The ‘pure’ development activity. It excludes events that are not development related like: comments on issues, project management events etc. Allows to us to get a better gauge of development—Without excluding these events there could be inflated activity.

Dormant circulation: Shows the number of unique crypto which has not been moved for a large period of time.

Exchange balance: The difference inflow-outflow (inflow minus outflow). The usefulness of this metric comes from the fact that transactions from missing/unknown exchange wallets to missing/unknown exchange wallets cancel each other

Exchange inflow: How many coins/tokens are moved from non-exchange to exchange wallets.

Exchange outflow: How many coins/tokens are moved from exchange to non-exchange wallets.

Gas used: Shows the amount of Gas accrued on the Ethereum network daily. Gas is a unit that measures the amount of computational effort it will take to successfully conduct a transaction or execute a contract on the Ethereum blockchain.

Holders distribution: Breaks down the number of addresses based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold.

Market value to realised value (MVRV): Shows the average profit/loss of all the coins currently in circulation according to the current price. ‘MV’ stands for ‘market value’, which simply describes the market cap. ‘RV’ stands for realised value, an alternative to MV.

Miners balance: Shows the combined ETH balance of addresses belonging to Ethereum mining pools.

Network growth: Shows the number of new addresses being created on the network each day. This metric illustrates user adoption over time and can be used to identify when the project is gaining or losing traction.

Network value-to-transaction (NVT): Used as a long-term indicator of a crypto’s price trends, rather than a day-to-day valuation metric. A high NVT indicates that a crypto’s network valuation is higher than the value being transmitted on the network.

Realised cap: Shows the total amount that all BTC holders spent to purchase their tokens—known as the total acquisition cost. Realised cap is calculated by dividing the BTC supply by the price of each BTC token when it last moved on the blockchain.

Realised value: An alternative to market cap. Instead of multiplying all coins/tokens by the last price, every coin/token is assigned the price at which it was last moved.

Social dominance: Shows the share (or %) of the coin’s mentions on crypto-related social media, compared to a pool of 50+ of the most talked-about projects online.

Social volume (SV): Shows the amount of mentions of the coin on 1000+ crypto social media channels, including Telegram groups, crypto subreddits, discord groups, private traders chats and more.

Transaction volume: Shows the aggregate amount of BTC tokens across all transactions that happened on the network daily.

Velocity: Shows the average number of times that a crypto changes wallets each day. A higher velocity means the crypto is in transactions more often within a set time frame.

Weighted social sentiment: Combines the ratio of positive vs. negative mentions over time vs. the frequency of overall mentions.

Whale transaction count: Tracks the number of transactions transferring >100,000 USD.
